Since its inception, Manistee-Benzie Community Mental Health has played a very aggressive role in providing community based services for residents with a mental illness, developmental disability, or emotional problem. In 1978 the agency became one of the first community mental health programs in Michigan to integrate substance abuse services with mental health services. The integration of those services is only now becoming a nationally recognized "best practice" in the mental health field.
Now, as the world of healthcare continues to move toward managed care models in an attempt to contain costs and encourage "best practices," Manistee-Benzie Community Mental Health will continue to assure that local residents receive high quality services that meet individuals’ needs. And as a nationally-accredited CARF agency we will continue to manage and provide those services locally which meet the highest standards of excellence for the 2,400 persons we serve annually.
